This step-by-step guide shows you how to switch your sign-in method from SMS to the Microsoft Authenticator app in just a few steps. The process takes about 5–10 minutes.
Important!
Please switch to Microsoft Authenticator by the end of October and then remove your SMS authentication method (see Step 7). Starting in February 2027, Microsoft will no longer support login via SMS.
What You Need to Switch:
- Your smartphone (iPhone Smartphone running iOS 17 or later, or Android Smartphone running Android 8.0 or later)
- A PC or laptop with Internet access
- Your UNILU login (email address and password)

Step 1: Install the app
Download the “Microsoft Authenticator” app for free from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) onto your smartphone.

Step 2: Open the setup page
On your PC or laptop, open your browser and go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup, then log in with your UNILU account. |

Step 3: Add a new sign-in method
Click “Add sign-in method” and select “Authenticator App” from the list. |

Step 4: Scan the QR code

Step 5: Confirm the number

Step 6: Done!

Step 7: Remove the SMS method
